2021 Toyota C-hr Gets Top Safety Pick Award From Iihs

2021 Toyota C-HR gets Top Safety Pick award from IIHS

Newly-available electronic driving aids earned the 2021 Toyota C-HR a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Japanese firm's smallest crossover missed out on a Plus rating, however.

Toyota made its Safety Sense 2.5 suite of electronic driving aids standard across the full C-HR range for 2021. It bundles a long list of features including a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, road sign assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping technology, and automatic high beams. It's the first feature (called PCS w/PD in alphabet-soupese) that made a difference from the Institute's standpoint. It allowed the C-HR to avoid collisions at 12 and 25 mph, and it either avoided or at least slowed down for a dummy in three separate tests.

2021 Toyota Camry Review | Price, Specs, Features And Photos

2021 Toyota Camry Review | Price, specs, features and photos

The 2021 Toyota Camry is not the drab beige appliance you might remember. This generation set a unique tone from the very beginning with its significantly enhanced driver involvement, interior quality and overall style. Toyota has steadily been updating it, too. Last year Toyota added an all-wheel drive option as well as a high-performance Camry TRD, which is also the most affordable way to get a Camry with a V6. This year brings more trim selection for the hybrid, along with updated infotainment and safety features

Despite being fundamentally different than the Camrys that came before, the 2021 should still satisfy the sensible buying criteria that's made it a best-seller for so long: strong reliability, good resale value and high safety ratings. So, while much has changed, much has also stayed the same. That's a good thing, and even if the Honda Accord is broadly more appealing, the Hyundai Sonata more distinctive and Mazda6 more fun to drive, the diverse, well-rounded Camry lineup is a must-consider.

2021 Nissan Kicks Teases Its Updated Front End

2021 Nissan Kicks teases its updated front end

The Nissan Kicks is getting a refresh for the 2021 model year. Nissan launched the Kicks for 2018, which means it's time for the mid-cycle update. As a little preview to the full reveal on December 8, Nissan has given us a quick teaser video.

Nissan provided zero information beyond the video. The whole front end is shrouded in darkness, preventing us from seeing much of anything in detail. At the very least, the headlights look changed versus the current model. They look more squared-off versus the bubbly and fun lights on the current Kicks. The grille looks to be a bit wider than before, but it's keeping the same general shape as the outgoing Kicks' grille.

2021 Mazda Cx-30 2.5 Turbo Priced

2021 Mazda CX-30 2.5 Turbo priced

In our review of the Mazda CX-30, we said that this crossover is so gifted dynamically, it was practically begging for more power. Mazda answered by adding a new turbo engine for 2021, and now we know how much the extra grunt is going to cost. Mazda has released pricing for the more potent CX-30, and the Turbo model opens at $31,000 (including the $1,100 destination charge), putting it above even the top-trim base-engine version.

The turbocharged 2.5-liter engine makes 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque on regular gas, or 250 horses and 320 lb-ft with 93-octane (against 186 hp and 186 lb-ft for the standard 2.5-liter). Besides the extra output, the CX30 2.5 Turbo also comes standard with all-wheel drive, which is $1,400 extra on the regular CX-30.

2021 Toyota C-hr Is The First Gr Sport Model Offered In Australia

2021 Toyota C-HR Is The First GR Sport Model Offered In Australia

Toyota has popped its GR Sport cherry in Australia by launching the new C-HR sports-flavored small crossover. Similar to Hyundai’s new ‘N Line’ as well as a swath of German proposals in all categories such as Audi‘s ‘S Line’, GR Sport focuses on sporty aesthetics and chassis improvements without touching the powertrain.

2021 Acura Tlx Luggage Test | How Much Fits In The Trunk?

2021 Acura TLX Luggage Test | How much fits in the trunk?

The 2021 Acura TLX has a 13.5-cubic-foot trunk according to the spec sheet. That would be comparable to a typical compact mainstream sedan despite the TLX's exterior dimensions being more akin to a midsize sedan (its 194.6-inch length is right smack between a Toyota Camry and Honda Accord). Luxury cars usually sacrifice utility for style, and by adapting cab-rearward proportions for this latest generation, it shouldn't be surprising that the TLX follows the trend.

However, how much utility does the new TLX sacrifice and is the trunk still useful? Let's find out.

2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible Interior Driveway Test | Photos, video

The 2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible is a blessing in the form of a car. Its 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 makes one of the best sounds in automobiledom, and one look will have anybody's jaws on the ground. Climb inside, and the hits don't stop coming.

In our specific test car, the first thing we notice are the miles of Toasted Caramel leather. It's everywhere, and its expensive feel and quality are second to none at this price point. You can get black or red leather, but the Toasted Caramel tan is the classiest option available for the Convertible. Shades of tan on the doors, seats and headrests give it a mild two-tone look, making the color combo even more pleasing.

2021 Honda Rebel 1100 Motorcycle Unveiled

2021 Honda Rebel 1100 motorcycle unveiled

Honda released a bigger, more powerful version of the Rebel 500 that offers riders more than twice the engine displacement. Called Rebel 1100, it diverges from the commonly-accepted definition of a cruiser in several ways.

The 487-pound Rebel 1100 is not the archetypal cruiser because it's not festooned with chrome trim. It's offered in Metallic Black and Bordeaux Red Metallic, and Honda painted the frame, the suspension parts, the visible mechanical components (including the chain), the exhaust system, and the handlebars in black. Riders face an all-in-one digital instrument cluster that wouldn't look entirely out of place in a member of the Mini range.

2021 Nissan Sentra Prices Rise Incrementally

2021 Nissan Sentra prices rise incrementally

The Nissan Sentra was extensively redesigned last year, and for 2021 the model receives just minor tweaks, for which it's subject to just minor price increases.

The base Sentra S sees its price rise by $320, to $20,335 (with the $925 destination charge). Consider the extra scratch the cost of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which have been added to the standard-equipment list this year. (They previously were unavailable on the base car.)
