One AKB48 member to star in Mexican TV drama

On December 10, AKB48 held their '7th AKB48 Kohaku Taikou Uta Gassen' at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL. During this event, there was a surprise announcement that one member from AKB48 will play a main role in a new Mexican TV drama titled 'L.I.K.E.'

At the end of the event, a video message by Mexican TV producer Pedro Damián was shown announcing the production of 'L.I.K.E' following the popular drama series 'Rebelde.' He wanted to cast a Japanese woman in the drama, and upon discussion with Akimoto Yasushi, it was decided that one member from AKB48 would be selected.

AKB48 will release their 9th album (currently untitled) on January 24, 2018. 

In addition to their latest singles "Shoot Sign" (released March 2017), "Negaigoto no Mochigusare" (May 2017), "#Suki Nanda" (August 2017), and "11-gatsu no Anklet" (November 2017), the album will include brand new songs. It will be released in Types A and B, and each type will come with a different track list.

AKB48 have revealed the short PV for their new single "11-gatsu no Anklet" that's slated for release on November 22. 

The center for this single is Watanabe Mayu, who will be graduating from the group on December 31. Directed by Hirano Fumiko, the PV captures innocent expressions of the idol. The last scene, where Watanabe leads the other members in heavy rain, symbolizes how Watanabe has been a driving force, overcoming obstacles with the members during her time in AKB48. She commented, "I've loved every work that Hirano-san has been in charge of. She is an art director that I respect. I was very happy that I got to work with Hirano-san for this MV. It was like a graduation gift. I will be graduating with this single, but rather than being sad, I was able to have fun [shooting the video] in the rain.

AKB48's live event 'AKB48 Group Request Hour Set List Best 100 2018' will be held on January 19 and 20 at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL.

'Request Hour' is an annual event where fans can vote for their favorite AKB48 group songs. The members then perform the fan favorites in the order of ranking. The polling will take place from November 21 to December 11. More details regarding the poll and the event will be revealed via a special website.

On the reason for her graduation, she wrote on Team 8's official website, "I've always felt it was important to 'evolve' every day. I felt that the time has come for me to take a step and move forward in my one and only life. AKB48 Team 4 member Izuta Rina will be transferring to overseas sister group BNK48 based in Bangkok, Thailand. 

This announcement was made by Izuta herself during a performance on April 13 at AKB48 Theater. Afterwards, she wrote on the group's official website, explaining, "I want to be stimulated, so I thought a lot about whether or not the current me is beneficial to myself. I decided that I wanted to challenge myself to something new. I love AKB48, and moreso, I love theater performances! So I want to cherish theater performances as a member of BNK48 in Thailand."

This announcement was made on April 8 during the 3rd generation's 10th anniversary show at AKB48 Theater. Among the other members of this magnificent generation, I didn't stand out very much during these 10 years, but last year, I won the Janken Tournament, and with that itself, I feel I've reached the top.
