Star Wars Battlefront II is just about a month away, and I'm thrilled to introduce two PlayStation 4 bundles featuring the highly anticipated game.
First off, we're launching a Limited Edition Star Wars Battlefront II PS4 Pro bundle that includes a customized PS4 Pro system, matching DualShock 4 wireless controller, and a physical copy of Star Wars Battlefront II Deluxe Edition. The special PS4 Pro – a first of its kind for North America – has a mirror finish and is decorated with the iconic Galactic Empire and Resistance emblems, as well as the emblem for the Inferno Squad, an elite Imperial task force featured in the single player campaign of the game.
The Dark Lord of the Sith is coming to PS4.
Gleaming helm, sweeping cape, glowing red lightsaber: Darth Vader’s imposing presence is so purely menacing that few dare stand before him. In Star Wars Battlefront II, you will wield the full arsenal of Lord Vader’s vast powers against the enemies of order.
Starfighter Assault is Criterion’s contribution to this November’s Star Wars Battlefront II, the multi-studio collaboration that is EA’s return to a galaxy far, far away.
The Guilford-based studio’s heritage is rich in racing franchises (Burnout, Need for Speed), and it is applying that discipline – a fine splice of arcade thrills, missile-like speed and perfect handling – to the saga in the form of starfighter-exclusive clashes.
The pitch for Star Wars Battlefront II is mind-boggling. Three major development studios are teaming up to create a deep and nuanced multiplayer competitive shooter set across all three Star Wars film eras. Simultaneously, they are developing a new storyline set from the Empire's perspective that reveals the events between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. "Ambitious" may be an understatement.
But based on what I've seen and played at EA Play this weekend, I think Motive, Criterion, and DICE are going to pull this thing off.
Prepare yourself to join huge battles for the fate of the galaxy across landscapes from the Star Wars prequels, original trilogy, and the new trilogy era.
Welcome to Star Wars Battlefront II, with a new story mode taking players on an epic journey from the battle of Endor to the rise of the First Order. The prequels, original trilogy, and new era meet in a vast multiplayer adventure coming to PS4 on November 17 (or November 14 if for players who pre-order the Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition).
Star Wars Battlefront II introduces a new single-player Star Wars story. As Imperial special forces operative Iden Versio, you’ll witness firsthand the destruction of the second Death Star. That calamitous event propels you and your elite team, Inferno Squad, into an odyssey of revenge, betrayal, and redemption. The action-packed campaign that follows spans the 30-year gap between Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and leads you to encounters with some of Star Wars’ greatest heroes.
