Tokyo Station fetes 100th birthday with Taisho Era light showJR Tokyo Station was lit up Dec. 24 in violet-tinged hues harkening back to its Taisho Era (1912-1926) origins as part of celebrations to mark the venerable rail hub's centennial.
To commemorate the landmark occasion, Tokyo Station and the office buildings in the area are being illuminated in an event called Tokyo Michiterasu, which has been held every year since 2012. The station in Chiyoda Ward opened for business on Dec. 20, 1914.

There will be 600 units of the body-only form, and 1000 of the kit with the lens.
