One of Japan's most famous mid-summer dance festivals, the Awa Odori, has kicked off in the western city of Tokushima.

At the opening ceremony on Monday, Tokushima Mayor Akiyoshi Endo said he hopes everyone enjoys the annual event.

STU48 challenge themselves to a contemporary dance in PV for 'Kaze wo Matsu'

The PV for STU48's second single "Kaze wo Matsu" has been uploaded onto YouTube. 

The PV was shot with drones in Onomichi City, Hiroshima, a city with many slopes and stone steps. Directed by Mitsuishi Naokazu, the video shows the members dancing up stone steps. The dance was choreographed by Tsujimoto Tomohiko, who has experience dancing in the Cirque du Soliel.

THE ORAL CIGARETTES give a dance performance in PV for 'Wagamama de Gomakasanaide'

THE ORAL CIGARETTES have uploaded the PV for their new song "Wagamama de Gomakasanaide" onto YouTube. 

"Wagamama de Gomakasanaide" will be released digitally on January 8, and it will serve as the opening theme to anime 'revisions' starting in January. The PV scrolls through 14 different situations, and in each situation, Yamanaka Takuya (Vo, G) makes an appearance in a different outfit. The members also challenged themselves to a dance performance for the PV.

Yamashita Tomohisa has revealed the PVs for his new songs "You Make Me" and "Right moves" on his website. 

Both of these songs can be found in Yamashita's new album "UNLEASHED" to be released on November 28. "You Make Me" is an English song that was written by Yamashita himself, and in its PV, he challenges himself to contemporary dance for the first time.

AKB48 have revealed the PV for their new single "NO WAY MAN" to be released on November 28. 

"NO WAY MAN" is the last single for members Miyawaki Sakura, Yabuki Nako, and Honda Hitomi, who will be devoting their activities to the Japanese-Korean girls group IZ*ONE until 2021. In the PV, the members challenged themselves to an intricate dance, which was choreographed by Ruu.

Rihwa does the Irish dance in PV for 'MY LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL'

Rihwa has revealed the PV for her new song "MY LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL ~1 Pint no Yuuki~."

This track was released together with "Sun Comes Up" as a double A-side single on September 26. Directed by Inaba Ukyo, the PV incorporates Irish elements that the song possesses. Rihwa delved into the video shoot after receiving a lecture from a river dancer and challenged herself to Irish dance. The PV also stars Tabo Koichi, who produced the song.

A Japanese festival known for its traditional dances and folksongs has kicked off in central prefecture of Toyama, attracting tourists from across the country.

The Owara Kaze no Bon festival dates back 300 years. It has been held to pray for safety from typhoons and for a good autumn harvest.

V6 have uploaded the PV for their new song "KEEP GOING" onto YouTube. 

"KEEP GOING" will be released together with "Crazy Rays " as a double A-side single on May 30. It serves as the image song for WOWOW's 'Spain Soccer League Espanola 17-18 Season 2nd half.' The video was made to show "dancing V6," and as such, the members show off their dance skills.

AKB48 have a dance battle in PV for 'Teacher Teacher'

AKB48 have revealed the PV for their new single "Teacher Teacher" due out on May 30. 

Oguri Yui serves as center for the first time in this single. In the PV, the 28 members have a "sexy and cute dance battle" while showing their beautiful legs. It was directed by Uehara Kei and the choreography was done by Park Juny.
