Honda Develops Household Gas Engine Cogeneration UnitHonda Motor announced it will begin sales of a new model for its household MCHP (Micro Combined Heat and Power) gas engine cogeneration unit in November 2012, through gas utilities across Japan. Building on its well-received predecessors that have served as the core unit in the ECOWILL household cogeneration system*1,which runs by burning natural gas or LPG (liquefied propane gas) for electricity generation and using the exhaust heat for hot water supply and heating, the new model has an autonomous operation function that enables system use in a power outage or other emergencies.

Nissan employed the engine valve for the 2012 model of the Nissan GT-R not only because of its light weight but also because of its high cooling efficiency and potential to drastically improve fuel efficiency by preventing knocking.

Toyota to Increase 4-Cylinder Engine Capacity in KentuckyToyota announced today it will increase annual engine assembly capacity of 4-cylinder engines by more than 100,000 at its plant in Georgetown, Ky. The increase will begin August 2013. The approximately $30 million project will create about 80 new jobs.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky (TMMK) currently assembles engines for the Avalon, Camry and Venza, all built at TMMK.  The capacity increase will supply engines for TMMK's Camry and Camry Hybrid and RAV4 in Woodstock, Ontario.

Lexus fires up the new CT 200h F-SportHybrid engined cars are more popular than ever – according to new figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The organisation's latest data shows that Lexus, together with Toyota, leads a sector which has seen a more than 100,000 hybrid vehicles registered since 2007.

Of that number, 77,000 – over three quarters of the vehicles identified by the survey – were badged Lexus or Toyota.
