The Japan Railway group says its credit card payment system is now back online nationwide. A glitch early on Monday left travelers unable to use the form of payment, creating headaches for the morning commute.
JR officials say the problem started at around 4 a.m. and lasted five hours. They say there was a technical issue in the server that processes credit payments.
A Japanese industry group that manages the Kobe beef brand has expressed sadness about the death of US basketball star Kobe Bryant, whose name is said to come from the famous meat product.
Tetsunori Tanimoto of the Kobe Beef Marketing & Distribution Promotion Association said he was shocked to hear Bryant had been killed in a helicopter accident.
It's been announced that AKB48 group members will be opening YouTube channels.
This announcement was made on January 21 during the group's concert '15nenme no Chosensha' at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL. In order to liven up their 15th anniversary year, the members will be distributing videos as a new challenge. So far, the members who will be participating in this project are Mukaichi Mion, Murayama Yuiri, Mogi Shinobu, Okada Nana, Nakanishi Chiyori, Sakaguchi Nagisa, Kuranoo Narumi, Oguri Yui, Kashiwagi Yuki, and Yokoyama Yui. Among the 10 members, Mukaichi, Murayama, Mogi, and Okada will open a group channel called 'Yuna Mogion Channel.' On AKB48's official YouTube channel, you can see the announcement video for the project. Additionally, there is one video uploaded on 'Yuna Mogion Channel.' Both videos can be seen below.
Johnny's Jr. group MADE have announced that they will disband on January 31.
On their fan club site, the group announced, "We, MADE, would like to announce that we will be disbanding on January 31, 2020." Inaba Hikaru, Tomioka Kento, and Fukushi Nobuki will continue their activities as solo artists of Johnny's & Associates. However, Akiyama Taiga will be leaving the agency, also on January 31, to pursue a career in choreography.
