The track was still wet in the morning session and with just 14ºc track temperature both Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez began the session on wet option tyres. However, towards the end of the session a dry line began to appear and both riders went out on the soft option slick tyres for the final 10 minutes with Marc taking the fastest time of the session (1'54.797) and Dani in 8th (1'56.534).
Monster Energy Yamaha’s Steven Frossard will learn the extent of an injury to his right knee after an accident while training yesterday. The luckless 26 year old fell while negotiating a corner after a mini-whoops section at a private track in southern France and it was only upon resuming his training session in preparation for his home Grand Prix next weekend that Frossard felt discomfort in his right leg.
The former Celtic midfielder sustained damaged ligaments in his left knee in a 2-1 win over Jubilo Iwata on May 3 and was told by doctors he would need between six to eight weeks to make a full recovery.
