Former Japanese prime minister Abe Shinzo's political support group did not mention the cost of a dinner party it organized in its political fund report for last year.

The report was released on Friday. It has no record of the transactions concerning the party held in April 2019.

An NHK survey shows one-in-three respondents affected by last month's rain-triggered disasters in Kumamoto Prefecture, southwestern Japan, are experiencing negative effects of the coronavirus on their lives and rebuilding efforts.

NHK conducted the survey in late July, covering 104 people in Hitoyoshi City, Kuma Village, Yatsushiro City, and Ashikita Town. The four municipalities were hard hit by floods and mudslides caused by record downpours on July 4, almost one month ago.

With less than six months to go until the Tokyo Paralympic Games, NHK has learned many para-sports organizations are concerned about the lack of facilities available to para-athletes.

NHK conducted a survey of 26 domestic para-sports associations and received responses from all of them.
