Narita Airport near Tokyo is slashing landing fees as airlines struggle in the face of the coronavirus.

Narita International Airport Corporation says it is waiving landing charges for domestic passenger flights, and cutting fees for international journeys by about 30 percent.

Japan's health minister says 28 passengers have developed fevers or other symptoms after disembarking from the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship.

Katsunobu Kato said at a Diet committee meeting on Tuesday that the passengers are among those who have responded to his ministry's follow-up surveys.

A helicopter operated by the Fukushima Prefectural police made an emergency landing into a rice field Saturday morning, seriously injuring one person.

Fukushima police say the crashed helicopter was carrying an organ for a heart transplant. Seven people were on board including a doctor, nurse and police personnel.
