S.Korea PM to deliver Moon's letter to Abe

South Korean government sources say their country's prime minister will deliver a personal letter from President Moon Jae-in to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe later this week.

The sources say Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon will meet Abe on Thursday and hand the letter to him. Lee is visiting Japan to attend Emperor Naruhito's enthronement ceremony.

Japan's trade minister Hiroshige Seko has stressed that the recent tightening of export restrictions on some high-tech materials to South Korea is not a reaction to the wartime labor issue. His comment came after Moon criticized the move.

Seko told reporters on Tuesday he would not respond to Moon's remarks in his capacity as trade minister.

Popular anime Sailor Moon's 1st official goods shop to open in Tokyo

The first official merchandise shop of "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon," a globally popular Japanese animation series, will open on Saturday in Tokyo, toy maker Bandai Co. said Wednesday.

Bandai said it hopes to attract both local and foreign fans to the Sailor Moon Store, which will have a 53 square-meter space in a shopping complex in the Harajuku district, known as a fashion and cultural center.
