Final Fantasy Vii Remake Will Not Be Exclusive To The Ps4 Forever

Final Fantasy VII Remake Will Not Be Exclusive To The PS4 Forever

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be an exclusive to the Sony PS4. It is accepted that that is the case, but as it turns out, it isn’t necessarily 100% true. According to the box art for the upcoming game, there is mention that the exclusivity for the PS4 is a timed one and that it will run for about a year or so.

According to the label, it claims that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be a timed exclusive for the PS4 until the 3rd of March, 2021. After which, presumably the game will find its way to other platforms. However, there is no mention of which platforms the game will be available after that, although if we had to venture a guess, the Xbox will be a likely candidate and maybe the PC.

This comes in the form of the Minecraft Bedrock Edition which Microsoft is finally rolling out to the PS4. One of the main changes in the Bedrock Edition is support for cross-play, meaning that gamers on the PS4 will be able to play with gamers on the PC, Xbox, mobile, and the Nintendo Switch.

In a statement made to The Verge, Minecraft studio head Helen Chiang was quoted as saying, “One of Minecraft’s core missions is to connect players across devices and provide the best experience regardless of platform. We continue to fulfill that mission here today by welcoming PS4 players to Minecraft on Bedrock and growing our cross-platform multiplayer community.”

Ps5 Backwards Compatibility With Ps4 Still In The Works

PS5 Backwards Compatibility With PS4 Still In The Works

According to a report from Famitsu, it seems that Sony is still working on ensuring 100% backwards compatibility with the PS4. When asked about backwards compatibility, Sony was quoted as saying (translated by DualShockers’ Iyane Agossah), “Our development team is currently hard at work in order to make 100% backward compatibility with PS4 possible. Please wait for further information.”

The idea of backwards compatibility was initially revealed earlier this year in an article by WIRED, where Sony’s Mark Cerny confirmed that the PS5 would be backwards compatible with the PS4. However, this feature was not mentioned in Sony’s recent announcement, leading some to wonder if the feature could be launched in time or if it could come at a later date through a software update.

However, it seems that Sony has decided to remove Facebook integration with the PS4 console, meaning that you can no longer directly share your game’s screenshots or videos with the social media network.

According to Sony, “Starting on October 7th, 2019 Facebook integration will no longer be supported on the PS4 system. This includes Facebook’s share features such as posting gameplay and trophy activity and using the friend finder feature.” The company adds, “PlayStation 4’s share features will remain the same, except Facebook will no longer be offered as a destination to share screenshots, videos, music, trophy details, or links to gameplay broadcasts.”

Sony Has Sold 100 Million Ps4 Consoles To Date

Sony Has Sold 100 Million PS4 Consoles To Date

It goes without saying that Sony’s PS4 console is one of the most popular consoles in the market today, and based on the latest figures, it looks like Sony has pretty much conquered this particular generation of consoles. This is because in the company’s latest earnings, they have revealed that they have sold a whopping 100 million PS4 consoles to date.

It has been reported that sales of the PS4 are actually slowing down, but in all honesty, it doesn’t really come as a surprise. This is because we are nearing the end of the current generation of consoles, where both Microsoft and Sony have actually confirmed that they do have next-gen consoles already in the works.

Ea Access Ps4 Launch Confirmed For July 24th

EA Access PS4 Launch Confirmed For July 24th

Electronic Arts launched its EA Access game subscription service almost five years ago for the Xbox One. The service enables subscribers to pay a monthly fee in return for which they get access to a substantial library of EA titles. The service has never been available on the PlayStation 4 but that’s set to change next month. EA has confirmed that EA Access is going to launch on the PS4 on July 24th.

It was actually Sony that rejected EA Access for the PlayStation 4 back in 2014 because it made all the sense in the world for EA to offer this service on both major gaming platforms. It had no reason to choose Xbox over PlayStation but it couldn’t serve the latter because Sony didn’t allow it. It’s unclear what made Sony change its mind but it has now been officially confirmed that EA Access for PS4 will be available starting July 24th.

Torchlight Ii Will Come To Ps4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch This September

Torchlight II Will Come To PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch This September

Back in the days of Diablo, some of the developers behind the game left Blizzard where they formed their own studio, Runic Games, which resulted in the Torchlight series, which many had hailed back then as a possible alternative to Diablo for those who enjoy this style of game.

The good news is that if you enjoyed the Torchlight series of games, you’ll be pleased to learn that Torchlight II has since been announced for the PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. For those unfamiliar, Torchlight II was originally launched on the PC back in 2012, which means that this is by no means a new game.

Destiny 2 Gets Cross-save Support For Ps4, Xbox One, Pc, And Stadia

Destiny 2 Gets Cross-Save Support For PS4, Xbox One, PC, And Stadia

As part of its new Shadowkeep year three update, Bungie is bringing cross-progression to Destiny 2. Players will be able to benefit from cross-save support for the title on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Google’s Stadia game streaming service. The announcement comes mere months after Bungie announced its split with publishing partner Activision.

This move will enable Destiny 2 players to share their characters across multiple gaming platforms which include Google’s new Stadia service, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It is certainly going to make life easier for Destiny 2 players who previously had to create separate characters and make do with progress that was tied to each individual gaming platform. This will let them carry their characters and progression across platforms.

Ios 13 Will Turn Iphones Into A Mobile Ps4 Console

iOS 13 Will Turn iPhones Into A Mobile PS4 Console

With the announcement of iOS 13, it was revealed that Apple would finally be bringing support for controllers from the likes of Sony and its DualShock 4 controller used for the PS4 console. However, what some might not have realized and as reported by MacRumors, it seems that this has a bigger implication than we think.

This is because Sony has an app called the Remote Play app that they launched back in March. For those who are unfamiliar with the app, basically what it does is that it lets you stream games from your PS4 to your iPhone over WiFi. This essentially turns your iPhone into a mobile gaming console, but unfortunately, the on-screen controls and also third-party controllers were a less than stellar experience.
