Sony is rolling out September 2020 Android security patches for a number of devices including the Xperia 1, Xperia 5 and Xperia 10 II (Mark 2). The Xperia 1 and 5 have received an update that moves the build number to version 55.1.A.9.101, and patches from August to September 2020.
The company has announced that they will be “raising the bar” with their Android update support where a bunch of Samsung handsets and tablets will now be eligible for at least three generations worth of updates. This means that depending on the device, your handset or tablet could receive major Android updates up to 2021 or some even going into 2022.
The support devices include Samsung’s Galaxy S series starting with the Galaxy S10 Lite and newer; the Note series which starts from the Note 10 Lite and newer; Samsung’s entire foldable lineup; the Galaxy A series which starts with the A51 and newer; and the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and newer.
The Japanese government has announced a list of 4,181 people to be awarded honors this spring for their services to the nation or public.
They include former justices of the Supreme Court, a former head of Japan Business Federation, or Keidanren, as well as people who led major businesses.
Some of the cloth masks provided by the Japanese government to pregnant women have been found defective.
The government began sending masks, a total of 500,000, to pregnant women in the country on April 14 before it began sending two each to all households on Friday.
A Japanese Olympian who lives in Greece will receive the Olympic flame in a scaled-down ceremony in Athens because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The ceremony will be held at the Panathenaic Stadium on Thursday.
Hamasaki Ayumi's biographical novel 'M Aisubeki Hito ga Ite,' written by Komatsu Narumi, will be adapted into a drama. It will air on TV Asahi ever Saturday beginning in April.
'M Aisubeki Hito ga Ite' is a book that traces the singer's encounters and separations before she became the diva know as Hamasaki Ayumi. 'Ayu' will be played by Anzai Kalen and 'Masa' by Miura Shohei. The script will be written by Suzuki Osamu. The drama will feature hit songs from the 90s as well as fashion items that were popular during that time.
