Android Q 'multi-resume' Will Let Apps Run Simultaneously In Split-screen

Android Q ‘Multi-Resume' Will Let Apps Run Simultaneously In Split-Screen

Google officially brought multi-window functionality to Android with Nougat. It was the first uniform implementation of this feature that had existed on Android in different forms and manifestations prior to Nougat. There is one major limitation, though. Apps can be opened in split-screen but Android doesn’t run the two apps simultaneously. This will change with a new feature called “Multi-Resume” which will come with Android Q.

As smartphone displays have become larger, they’re more than capable of allowing users to have two apps open at once. Android lets them do this but even though it allows for two apps to be on the screen at the same time, it actually retains one as active and pauses the other one.

DOOM Eternal On The Nintendo Switch Will Run At 30fps

A couple of days ago, Bethesda officially confirmed the next installment in the Doom franchise in the form of DOOM Eternal. The game was announced for multiple consoles which includes the Nintendo Switch, although given that the Switch isn’t as powerful in terms of hardware compared to other consoles, we’re sure some are wondering how the game holds up.

Speaking to Eurogamer, the game’s executive producer Marty Stratton revealed that the game will run at 30fps on the Switch. Eurogamer asked Stratton to clarify this as prior to this, it was said that the game would run at 60fps, but Stratton has since confirmed that for the Switch, it will run at 30fps, while other consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One will run at 60fps, or at least that’s the goal.

It has been revealed in multiple reports recently that Samsung has a new smartwatch in the pipeline. Some reports have even claimed that the company is going to ditch the “Gear” branding for its smartwatch and launch it as the Galaxy Watch instead. It may also be the first Samsung smartwatch in many years to run on Wear OS, an iteration of Google’s mobile operating system that was previously referred to as Android Wear.

Samsung hasn’t made an Android Wear-powered smartwatch since 2014 when it released the Gear Live. All other wearable devices that it has released since then have been powered by its Tizen operating system.

Nintendo Switch Hacked To Run Linux

Nintendo Switch Hacked To Run Linux

We're sure that hackers and modders are pretty curious about how hackable the Nintendo Switch is. There are many reasons for this, such as piracy, or the ability to run mods on the system, or just for fun. Recently it looks like hackers were successful because in a tweet by fail0verflow\, they posted a photo of the Switch appearing to run on Linux.

They later followed up with another tweet which showed the Switch running on Linux with a GUI on top of it, and it appears that the interface can be interacted with using the Switch's touchscreen display. Ultimately what this has resulted in is a Linux-based tablet. The group has not disclosed how they went about the hack, despite many asking for instructions or some information. The group even claims that their Switch coldboot exploit cannot be patched.
