New Toyota Supra Shows Up In Side Profile Renderings - Yay Or Nay?

Toyota has yet to settle on a name for its impending sports car co-developed with BMW, but one thing that appears to be finalized is the vehicle’s design.

As recent spy shots have shown, the new Supra will essentially be a tamed version of the eye-catching Toyota FT-1 Concept from a few years ago. From the front, this should result in an aggressive stance and large intakes, potentially similar to what some renderings have depicted.

Comparison Chart Shows How Far The Nissan Leaf Has Come

While the all-new 2018 Nissan Leaf hasn't entered the U.S. market yet, future buyers can look forward to purchasing a car that's significantly improved compared to its predecessor.

Even though it featured a familiar 5-door hatchback appearance, the design was of the fist-generation Leaf was quirky, to say the least - but that was probably intentional on Nissan's part in order to emphasize that this wasn't a conventional hatch but an all-electric model.

Hybrid Lexus LC500h Coupe Shows How Its Weird CVT Works Under Full Load

While the vast majority of press coverage is taken by the V8-powered Lexus LC, there’s also the hybrid version that deserves some attention.

The Lexus LC500h is powered by the company’s so-called Multi Stage Hybrid System which was developed specifically for the needs of their flagship coupe. A 3.5-liter V6 engine that runs on the Atkinson cycle is still combined with two electric motors but the petrol unit gets lightweight valvetrain components and Dual VVT-i while the transmission is a whole new deal.

Toyota Shows Up In Vegas With A Bunch Of Camrys And C-HR [69 Pics]

Even though there are 18 vehicles on display at Toyota's 2017 SEMA Show stand, the focus has clearly been put on the all-new 2018 Camry and this race-tuned C-HR crossover.

Believe it or not, the latter is no gimmick, and Toyota is already calling this heavily-modified C-HR "the world's quickest CUV". In fact, it lapped Willow Springs faster than a McLaren 650S Spyder, a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and a Nissan GT-R NISMO.

Mazda Vision Coupe | Tokyo Motor Show's Big, Sensuous 4-door

Mazda Vision Coupe | Tokyo Motor Show's big, sensuous 4-door

Mazda has been making a lot of noise recently about not giving up on the rotary engine. Enough that we started to think it might show a new epitrochoid-engined concept at this year's Tokyo Motor Show. But the brand is nothing if not surprising. Have you driven a CX-5 or a CX-9? Have you noted the real-world fuel economy in a Mazda3? Have you looked at a Miata RF?

So instead of trotting out the latest in Wankel weirdness, today in its home market, the Mazda folks pulled the silk off of a stunning full-size four-door design concept, the somewhat inaptly named Vision Coupe.

Leaked 2018 Honda Gold Wing Shows Off New Suspension, Hints At Dct

Leaked 2018 Honda Gold Wing shows off new suspension, hints at DCT

It's been six years since we ran good news involving the Honda Gold Wing, and that news was merely supposition: a Honda patent suggested company engineers toying with a four-cylinder hybrid motor wedged in a Gold Wing frame. It appears Honda will justify the intermission next month by introducing a brand-new Gold Wing at a media event in October, followed by a worldwide reveal for the legendary cruiser at the EICMA show in Milan in November. Leaked images appearing on European sites MaxxMoto and Oliepeil reveal major changes for the current model, now on sale for 16 years. What's more, those four-cylinder hybrid rumors might come true.

A sharper, more contoured front end hides one of three major changes: the switch to hub-center steering via a Hossack-like front fork, akin to BMW's Duolever setup. Instead of the present cartridge fork, the handlebars connect to a semi-active suspension unit featuring a single spring-shock unit behind the front fairing. The suspension sits atop a cast aluminum tube running down to a simple aluminum wishbone that straddles the front wheel. The design benefits include a lighter front end, greater steering precision and lean angles, while eliminating fork dive and flex.

2018 Toyota Supra Shows Off Production Cues in Latest Spy Photos

The latest spy photos of the 2018 Toyota Supra show the highly anticipated coupe looking more production-ready than ever before.

The prototype seen here appears to be wearing production headlights with rectangular LED segments, but the rest of the car remains disguised. Those curious as to what the production car may look like should look at these photos and photos of the Toyota FT-1 concept side-by-side, as the Supra will draw heavily from that well-received design study.

Toyota Camry's HUD Shows 10-inch Video 2.5m Away From Driver

Toyota Motor Corp employed a full-color head-up display (HUD) for the "Camry" mid-size sedan, which was released July 10, 2017.

The HUD realizes a "large screen" by showing about 10-inch video about 2.5m away from the driver's eyes. It seems to be supplied by Denso Corp. Toyota employed the high-performance HUD that it developed in cooperation with Denso, which has a close relationship with Toyota, instead of a product of Yazaki Corp, which supplies an HUD for the fourth-generation Prius.
