Imai Tsubasa to sign with Shochiku Entertainment

Imai Tsubasa, who left Johnny's & Associates in September of 2018, will be signing with Shochiku Entertainment on April 1. 

Imai was diagnosed with Meniere's disease in 2014 and has been on indefinite hiatus since September of 2018 to focus on treatment. He resumed his activities last month with the kabuki play 'Sistina Kabuki: NOBUNAGA.'

A man of Okinawa descent residing in the United States launched the petition on December 8th, demanding the reclamation work be suspended until a prefectural referendum is held in February. The referendum will question whether to allow a new US base to be built at Henoko.

First 'Japanese Sign Language' phone booths installed at Haneda Airport

The first public "Japanese Sign Language" phone booths for the hearing impaired were installed at Haneda Airport on Dec. 3, it has been learned.

The installation of the booths coincided with the United Nation's International Day of Persons with Disabilities by The Nippon Foundation. Looking toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, the foundation plans to introduce the phone booths to other main domestic airports such as Narita for Japanese with hearing disabilities.
