Sony and Panasonic have teamed up to develop a "next-generation standard for professional-use optical discs," saying that a 300GB flavor could be ready in two years or so. Though geared towards industries like cloud storage and digital cinema at first, the tech could eventually trickle down to consumers, too.
With the signing of the agreement, the two companies will begin discussing concrete plans toward a goal to begin local production of Acura brand vehicles at Guangqi Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. (GHAC) in 2016.
Nissan and Vesta (BMV: Vesta), an industrial real estate developer from Mexico, signed a definitive agreement for the development of a Douki Seisan Park (DSP) on site at the company's new Aguascalientes, Mexico manufacturing plant. The DSP would reside in close proximity to the automotive plant, allowing to intrinsically link automotive suppliers to production processes. This DSP will be developed within Nissan's new US$2-billion manufacturing complex where Phase 1 of automotive operations are scheduled to open by the close of 2013.
Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd., in conjunction with UK-based group company Inca Digital Printers Ltd., has developed the Truepress Jet W3200UV wide-format UV inkjet printing system; a development made possible by drawing on the core technologies refined by both Inca and Screen over many years for their products. The system will be available from October 2013 and its launch is expected to accelerate Screen’s business expansion in the worldwide market, focusing on the active demand that is currently seen in the sign and display market.
