Following the July unveiling of the namesake concept, the production Nissan Magnite B-SUV will have its world debut on October 21.

The season's first Pacific saury catch has arrived at a port in Hokkaido, northern Japan. But the volume was only about 1 percent of that for same time last year.

Four of 12 boats that set sail from the port in the town of Akkeshi on August 15 returned with the catch on Sunday. The remaining eight did not catch anything.

The Sony Xperia 1 II (Mark 2) received its first update last week, but Sony has followed that up with another update just a week later. Sony has moved the build version from 58.0.A.3.31 to version number 58.0.A.3.39. Sony doesn't include a changelog so it's tricky to work out what's changed, we guess it must be small performance enhancements and bug fixes. Workers at a care facility in Japan say the cloth masks provided by the government are too small for adults.

The Japanese government is sending two cloth masks to each household across the country from Friday.

A year and a half ago, we got our first glimpse at a Civic Type R sporting a wing that didn't touch the sky. And now that more subtle Civic is going into production as the 2020 Honda Civic Type R Sport Line. It features a number of changes that make it more mellow looking, but American buyers hoping to order one are out of luck, as it's a European model only.

The obvious change is a low-profile wing that is almost more of a spoiler. It does still have pointy parts like the rest of the Type R's extroverted body, so it fits in nicely. Another significant change is the switch to 19-inch wheels, rather than 20-inch units. These look less extreme, and they will probably return a slightly nicer ride. The front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser also get a grey highlight rather than the regular Type R's red line. Inside, the red bucket seats are swapped for simple black ones with red and grey stitching.

Sony has published its fiscal Q3 FY20 results, relating to the last calendar quarter of 2019. Sony has finally stem the quarterly decline it saw in Xperia shipments over the prior year, it reported Xperia shipments during the quarter was 1.3 million units. This makes it the highest selling quarter during calendar 2019, although given the decline we've seen over the last couple of years, this bounce is all relative against some very weak numbers.

Toyota has officially announced plans to build another small SUV, which will be based on the same platform as the fourth generation Yaris.
