The current Suzuki Swift's lineup has become a little more interesting after the addition of a new 4x4 model for the UK market. Already available in Japan as well as several European Countries including Germany and Switzerland, the new Swift 4x4 goes on sale in Britain this month with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and five doors in either SZ3 or SZ4 grades.
Unless you consider LED daytime running lights and exterior mirror mounted turning signals a must, there's no need to worry about having ordered a 2013 Suzuki Swift, because these are the only noteworthy updates found on the 2014MY hatch that appeared on the Japanese carmaker's customer website in Belgium.
According to the development team, research of customers who purchased the Swift indicated much satisfaction in regards to its design and the way it drives but not so much for the vehicle's gas mileage and economy. However, they say that development began with the main goal of finding a way to improve gas mileage.
While there are no pricing or equipment changes to the base $15,990 Swift GA, the mid-spec Swift GL rises by $300 to $16,990 and adds cruise control and Bluetooth phone connectivity – a claimed $850 of extra value.
