Production 2022 Acura Mdx Teased Ahead Of Official Debut

Production 2022 Acura MDX teased ahead of official debut

Acura will unveil the 2022 MDX in production form next Tuesday, Dec. 8, promising it will be "the most premium, performance-focused and technologically advanced SUV in Acura history." Acura will host the debut on its web site at 11:30 a.m. EST.

If you thought we already saw the 2022 Acura MDX, it's because we did. Acura showed the TLX-inspired design back in October with a "prototype." Like parent company Honda, Acura tends to show "prototypes" that are dead-ringers for their production variants, and this appears to be no different.

2022 Honda Civic Sedan Teased Ahead Of Its Debut On Twitch

2022 Honda Civic sedan teased ahead of its debut on Twitch

There's a brand-new Civic on the way for the 2022 model year, and while Honda isn't quite ready to rip the covers off (that's coming Tuesday, November 17, at 9:45 p.m. on the East Coast or 6:45 p.m. out West), the Japanese automaker hopes to whet the appetites of potential owners with the teasers you see above and below (we bumped up the brightness to bring out as much detail as possible). The image is purposely obscured, of course, but we do get to see enough of the rear shapes to suggest the new version will be more gracefully styled than the current version.

Though we only have one view, it does seem that the overall shape of the lights and the exaggerated spoiler shape match up with the patent images of the sedan we saw a few months back. If those prove accurate, expect the 2022 Civic sedan to have a swept-back style similar to the current Accord. Patent images of a hatchback have also been found.

Acura Mdx Next-generation Suv Teased With Images Of Luxury Interior

Acura MDX next-generation SUV teased with images of luxury interior

After teasing us with an exterior image of the fourth-generation Acura MDX a week ago, Acura has now followed up with images of the interior. The exterior teaser was done up in "Tron" style, but these interior shots go beyond outlines to reveal some details that are much less obscured.

Acura promises the MDX will be the "most premium and performance-focused" version of the SUV yet and has earned "elevated status" as the brand's flagship. (Only about 1,000 of the RLX were sold in North America last year, vs. 52,000 of the MDX, so it seems the big sedan got demoted as flagship. Aw.)

2021 Nissan Rogue Teased In Preparation For Next Week's Reveal

2021 Nissan Rogue teased in preparation for next week's reveal

The leaks were accurate. Nissan just teased the 2021 Nissan Rogue in its most revealing photo yet, and the crossover looks just like the one that was shown in some blurry photos a couple months ago.

We can make out the details better in this new photo due to its high resolution, and it shows a new stacked headlight design coming to the Rogue. The thin light on top appears to house the LED DRLs, and then the bottom fixture contains the regular headlights and high beams. Others have implemented stacked headlight designs as of late, with the most prominent being Hyundai crossovers. The grille is standard Nissan V-Motion design. It's just much larger than the old one, with a large, black mesh area and prominent chrome surround. The design is much bolder than the current Rogue's styling.

2021 Lexus Is Teased Ahead Of Debut

2021 Lexus IS teased ahead of debut

While the larger Lexus GS has finally been discontinued after declining sales, its smaller sibling is getting a new generation. The new 2021 Lexus IS will be revealed next week, and in the meantime, Lexus released this teaser image.

It doesn't reveal too much, and the company was smart enough to make some adjustments so that playing with exposure and brightness in Photoshop wouldn't reveal anything more. All we can tell is that it's a sedan, it gets a full-width taillight design, and there's a bit of a diffuser treatment to the rear bumper.
