Alps Exhibits Wireless Power Transmission System Using Magnetic Resonance

Alps Exhibits Wireless Power Transmission System Using Magnetic ResonanceAlps Electric Co Ltd exhibited a prototype of a wireless power transmission system based on a magnetic resonance method at Techno-Frontier 2013, which runs from July 17 to 19, 2013.

Alps Electric formed a partnership with WiTricity Corp in January 2013.

This time, Alps Electric showed a system consisting of a power-sending device using a large coil and two palm-sized power-receiving devices. It is possible to transmit electricity to the two power-receiving devices at the same time.

"The magnetic resonance method has a potential to greatly expand the application of wireless power transmission because it enables to separate a power-receiving device from a power-sending device," Alps Electric said.
