Sony has announced the Xperia Z3 Compact, revealing an impressive successor to the Xperia Z1 Compact packing a 4.6-inch (720 x 1280) display, 2600mAh battery with 2 day battery life, PS4 Remote Play and a higher level of dust/water resistance (IP65/IP68 certified) into a similar-sized body. The design features a rounded liquid reflection frame with tempered glass panels.
Camera duties are taken care of a 20.7MP Exmor RS sensor (including new 25mm wide angle G Lens) along with a 2.2MP Exmor R front-facing camera. High-resolution audio is also supported including DSEE HX, which upscales your existing AAC/MP3 music collection to near high-resolution quality.
In terms of hardware, the Xperia Z3 Compact sports a Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) chipset with 2.5GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics. It comes with 2GB RAM (instead of the 3GB on the Xperia Z3), 16GB internal storage and microSD memory card support. The display has a 319 PPI pixel density and screen-to-phone ratio of 70.77% (ahead of the Xperia Z1 Compact at 61.84%).
