Mitsubishi Electric to Build New Engineering Facility at its Kobe AreaMitsubishi Electric announced it will build a new engineering facility in Kobe to strengthen its engineering framework and expand the company's infrastructure-system businesses.

The 4-billion-yen ($40.7 million) facility is expected to start operating a year from now.

Mitsubishi Electric expects to expand its infrastructure-system businesses, which include public works projects, power generation and rolling stock, over the medium to long term.

The new facility will help to increase operational efficiency by consolidating engineer workforces engaged in design and development. It will also provide increased space for manufacturing and test-control equipment.
