Olympus has announced the availability of a new firmware package compatible with its E-M5 Mark II digital camera, namely version 2.1, which fixes two problems that might have slipped along with the previous build.
Specifically speaking, this new release removes a bug that didn't allow owners to cancel the Touch AF display when recording movies using the OLYMPUS Capture version 1.1.
In addition to that, the issue where the zoom didn’t automatically adjust to the wide-angle position when using an electronic zoom lens is fixed. The problem persisted even when the monitor was tilted to the self-portrait position.
Thus, if these issues have been bothering you, and you consider an upgrade, first know that the camera settings will remain intact when upgrading from version 2.0. However, the same settings will be erased if installing from earlier versions.
With this in mind, save the appropriate package for your computer OS (available for both Mac and Windows platforms), make sure that your computer has access to the Internet, and remove any memory card connected to the camera.
Afterwards, simply run the saved file, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful upgrade.
