Samsung Android Go Device Specs Possibly Leaked

While Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed it as yet, recent reports have suggested that there’s a Samsung Android Go smartphone in the pipeline. Android Go is an iteration of Android Oreo that Google has launched for low-end devices with 1GB of RAM or less. These devices offer a vanilla Android experience on entry-level smartphones. Samsung is believed to be making one such device and its specs have possibly been leaked.

Samsung has dabbled in stock Android smartphones in the past but it didn’t make that a permanent thing. Even the company’s budget handsets come with its own custom skin on top of Android which some argue slows down its devices.

The first Samsung Android Go smartphone won’t suffer any of those issues because it’s going to run a special iteration of Android that’s purpose built for low-end smartphones. Google has even released special Go editions of its popular apps to provide an even better user experience to those who pick up an Android Go device.

The purported leak suggests that the Samsung Android Go device will have a 5 inch Super AMOLED display with a 1.4GHz quadcore Exynos 7570 processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It may also feature an 8 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera as well as a 2,600mAh battery.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything about launching an Android Go smartphone at this point in time so reports about this device should be taken with a grain of salt for now.
