Sony Mobile released a new firmware update for Xperia Concept users last week, moving the build number to MOB31E.Z1.3657. The update fixes a long-standing issue that many Concept owners have had in the past, where the phone would wake unintentionally if double tap to wake was enabled. An example of this is if the phone was in your pocket, constantly waking the display and draining the battery. Now, the proximity sensor will be checked before tap to wake is enabled, which should avoid any unintentional activation.
Other changes centre on fixing some of the battery info issues. So, now you are able to turn off the battery percent value displayed through the System UI Tuner. You can find the System UI Tuner in your Settings menu, but it needs to be activated first. To do this, swipe down on the status bar and long-press the settings cog until it starts spinning. You will then be able to toggle “Show embedded battery percentage”.
Other updates include the use of the latest Xperia Home launcher (10.2.A.1.12) with Google Now integration, the latest Google Security patches for October 2016 as well as a new version of the InTouch feedback app (1.8.1). The full changelog can be found below.
The team also added an Easter Egg within the latest release, which took a few days for the community to find. We’ve got details below if you really want to try and find it yourself (don’t scroll any further!)
All users on the Concept programme should already have the update by now, which mainly constitutes the Xperia Z3 (D6603)and Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803). If you have not received it, check out Settings > About phone > Software update to download the latest version.

Xperia Concept Easter Egg
The Sony Xperia Concept team added a delightful Easter Egg within this latest build. If you look through System >Apps, you will find a system process called “Xperia Concept” version 1.0.0. To launch this you need to enter the following code into the dialler (*#*#2468# *#*). This will reveal the Easter Egg to be a photo of the super team behind the Xperia Concept software. All credits go to the Xperia Concept community who rallied together to work this one out.
