The first photo that actually shows the “international” Xperia Z1S running in the wild falls perfectly in line with the press shot surfaced a few days ago, starring a handheld that’s not exactly the cover story for elegance.
Yet it’s what’s on the inside that counts, and chances are the Z1S won’t make any compromises, packing the same exact quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU and 2 GB RAM as its big brother, the Z1. And a state-of-the-art 20.7 MP rear-facing camera. And a hefty 2,300 mAh battery.
But hold on for a second. How can we be so sure we’re looking at the Z1S and not the Z1 f introduced already in Japan? Easy, there’s no trace of NTT DoCoMo branding anywhere on the handheld’s body, plus the front-facing cam placement appears to be different.
The timing of the disclosure is likewise a precious piece of info hinting at it all being the real deal, as it was less than 48 hours ago when we reported Sony was covertly sending out press invites for a November 12 event.
