Kishida, Biden meet online

Japan's Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and US President Joe Biden have started their online meeting.

Through discussions on security, the economy, climate change, and other global issues, they are expected to confirm they will strengthen the Japan-US alliance and cooperate in pushing for a free and open Indo-Pacific.

They are also likely to agree to closely cooperate in dealing with China, which has been increasing its maritime activity, and North Korea, which has been repeatedly launching ballistic missiles recently.

They are also expected to agree to create a new framework for ministerial talks on foreign affairs and the economy, including high-technology and climate change.
