A couple in Minnesota just traded in their 414,000-mile 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage, which is notable for any car, topping many of the Junkyard Gems we've featured. We were also impressed because that's a lot of miles in a car that we weren't especially fond of. But the couple that owned it, Jerry and Janice Huot, clearly liked it. Dubbed the "Purple Won" in a nod to Prince, the subcompact endured six upper Midwest winters as an all-purpose utility and delivery vehicle.
"I always loved the comments at gas stations and grocery stores and waves from people as I'd drive by," Jerry said. "Kids would always stop and point. Everybody seemed to love that car; it would make everyone smile whenever they saw it."
Acura claims the 2021 TLX will be the "quickest, best-handling, and most well-appointed sport sedan in Acura history." The experts at Autoblog won't be able to put that statement to the test for several months, but all signs thus far are positive. After showing off the rear of the car a week ago, Acura just released a new teaser of the front fascia. Along with the photo, Acura announced the upcoming TLX will use its own brand-exclusive sports sedan platform and will have a double wishbone front suspension.
Before the 2021 TLX's digital unveiling that will take place, May 28 at 1:00 p.m. EST (10:00 a.m. PDT) on Acura.com, Honda's luxury branch has slowly been releasing enticing tidbits about the all-new four-door. The teasers show the car will look very similar to the beautiful Type S Concept, and a Type S performance variant will use a powerful turbocharged 3.0-liter V6.
Tetsu Nakamura, a Japanese doctor shot on Wednesday while traveling in a car in eastern Afghanistan, has died. Nakamura's career was dedicated to improving people's lives.
He once said, "I don't want to dress in white and walk around with airs and graces. We look beautiful when we are working up a sweat."
An exhibition highlighting the life and achievements of the late scholar of Japanese literature, Donald Keene, is underway at a museum in Kashiwazaki City, central Japan. Keene died in February.
Keene revived a traditional puppet theatrical performance set in the city to give encouragement to survivors of the major earthquake that hit the city and surrounding areas in 2007. It was the first time in about 300 years that the performance had been staged.
RYUCHELL will digitally release his new song "Link" on August 15.
RYUCHELL made his artist debut with the single "Hands up!! If you're Awesome" in February. The title of the upcoming single comes from his newborn son's name. It was written and composed by Hyadain, and RYUCHELL challenges rapping in this song. The lyrics are based on a letter that he wrote to his wife Peco and their son.
Google has never offered a dedicated podcasts app for Android before but it’s finally making amends. Its rival Apple already has a separate Podcasts app for its mobile devices and Google is now following suit with a dedicated Podcasts app for Android. Prior to this app, users could either listen to podcasts in Google Play Music or use an obscure player integrated into Android’s search feature.
Google is now making it much easier to listen to Podcasts on Android devices with a dedicated Google Podcasts app that’s available for download starting today for free. The app offers users access to a wide variety of podcasts that will automatically be synced with other Google services that the user relies upon, such as Google Assistant.
Sony Mobile's upcoming Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra look like fantastic mid-range all-rounders. Sony has recently released the manuals for both devices, which confirms the status of the dual SIM versions of both devices. For those looking at the Xperia XA2 Dual, it will have a hybrid SIM tray which means you can only use either two Nano SIM cards, or one SIM card and the microSD memory card.
It was initially thought that it was impossible to shrink down a full-frame sensor that could fit into a non-DSLR body, but that's exactly what Sony has done where they have launched not only full-frame mirrorless cameras, but full-frame compacts as well. This has ultimately spurred the competition to work on similar devices.
In fact Canon is one of them as we have been hearing rumors that the company had a full-frame mirrorless in the works. Now according to a new report from Canon Rumors, they have heard from their sources that the rumored Canon full-frame mirrorless might actually feature its own dedicated sensor, versus reusing a full-frame sensor found on other Canon cameras like the EOS 6D Mark II or the EOS 5D Mark IV.
Toyota’s recently announced Gazoo Racing (GR) model series is set to include a dedicated sports car platform, apart from beefed-up versions of the regular models.
So far, the GR series is a Japan-only affair but Toyota will soon expand its availability to other regions as well, including Europe but not North America. The company’s executives decided that Gazoo-tuned models destined for North America will be offered under the already established TRD (Toyota Racing Development) brand, AutoNews reports.
