Android 12 Starts Rolling Out To Pixel Devices

Android 12 was in developer preview since earlier this year, but the good news is that it looks like it is finally ready for the masses. Google has announced that they have started to roll out the Android 12 beta, but keep in mind that this is only for Google’s own Pixel devices first.

For those who own non-Pixel handsets, when the update will arrive for your phone and whether your phone is eligible for the update will depend on the manufacturer, so you’ll have no choice but to wait and see what the manufacturer has to say regarding the update’s availability. However, it’s safe to assume that if you bought your phone either this year or last year, there is a good chance you’ll be able to get the update.

Canon In Trouble After Disabling Scanner When Printer Runs Out Of Ink

It’s not uncommon to find many homes and offices relying on all-in-one printing, scanning, faxing, and photocopying systems. This is because it makes so much more sense to own a single gadget that does everything rather than multiple standalone gadgets that only fulfil one purpose.

Unfortunately for Canon, it seems that the company is finding themselves on the end of a lawsuit after a customer has sued them for not allowing owners of certain printers to scan or fax when the printer runs out of ink.

Apple Music Could Be Headed For The Ps5

Apple Music Could Be Headed For The PS5

While Apple loves to promote its own services within its own ecosystem, the company understands that in order to capture a wider market, they’ll need to appeal to more people. This is why it doesn’t really come as a complete shock to discover that Apple could be bringing Apple Music to the PS5.

This is according to a post on Reddit where a user discovered that they were given the option to download Apple Music on their console. However, the service doesn’t seem to be live yet because when the user tried to download it, they got the error message saying that the app is only usable on the PS4.

Nintendo Switch Pro Might Not Be Happening

Nintendo Switch Pro Might Not Be Happening

For a while now, there have been rumors suggesting that Nintendo could have a new Switch Pro model in the works, offering up more powerful hardware that would allow games to run at 4K. Nintendo, over the course of the years, has denied that such a device exists, and now we might know the reason why.

According to Nintendo insider NateDrake, he claims that based on a tip he received, the reason why the Switch Pro isn’t happening is simply because there is a new and fully next-gen Nintendo console in the works. While it is still based on the Switch, he claims that it will be receiving brand new hardware that will allow it to achieve 4K gaming thanks to the use of NVIDIA’s DLSS technology.

Nintendo Says That Joy-Con Drift Is Basically Unavoidable

Nintendo’s President later apologized for the issue, but if you were hoping that this meant that the company would fix the problem eventually, think again. This is because the company seems to think that this is a problem that is ultimately unavoidable.

This is according to senior executive and general manager of technology development Ko Shiota, where he said during a Q&A session regarding the new OLED Switch that the issues were akin to a car’s tires wearing out as the car moves, and this is something that cannot be helped.

Oled Nintendo Switch Comes With A Preinstalled Screen Protector

OLED Nintendo Switch Comes With A Preinstalled Screen Protector

If you were to buy the new OLED Nintendo Switch, it seems that Nintendo has been nice enough to actually preinstall a screen protector for users. While you might not notice it’s there, do not be tempted to peel it off if you actually start to realize its presence. This is something that Nintendo is warning against in the Switch’s manual.

This screen protector is designed to be an anti-shatter protective tool because unlike the older Switch modes that use a plastic display, the OLED Switch actually uses a glass display so the screen protector helps prevent the glass from shattering into shards should it ever get broken when you drop it or from other accidents.

Google Wants To Make Messages Sent Between iOS And Android More Secure

With iMessage, Apple allows iOS and macOS users to send end-to-end encrypted messages to each other. However, this is a different story when text messages are sent from Android to iOS and vice versa because this will just be sent as a regular text. This means that it isn’t quite as secure during the transmission.

However, Google wants to change this because in a tweet by Google’s SVP Of Android, Hiroshi Lockheimer, the executive hinted that Apple should adopt the Rich Communication Services protocol (RCS).

Sony Just Made It More Difficult To Buy PS3, PS Vita Games

Earlier this year, Sony announced their plans to eventually shut down its PS3 and PS Vita stores. Given that the company no longer seems to be interested in handhelds and how the PS5 is already here, it made sense. However, the outcry was bigger than Sony had anticipated and they backtracked, claiming that they would leave these stores open.

However, it seems that Sony has quietly made some changes that now make it more difficult and troublesome for gamers to purchase either PS3 or PS Vita games. This is according to a report from Kotaku who discovered a post in the “Important Notices” section of Sony’s support page.

Sony's SRS-NS7 Puts Speakers Around Your Neck

When you think of speakers, you think of devices that are embedded into a TV, sitting on top of a desk next to your computer, sitting on a stand next to your TV, and so on. When it comes to headphones, you might imagine a device cupping around your ears while being worn on your head.

Sony seems to have created a bit of a hybrid by launching the SRS-NS7, a pair of wearable speakers that sit around your neck, but stopping short of actually resting on your ears.

Apple Might Be A Bigger Gaming Company Than Nintendo And Activision

When you think of gaming companies, maybe names like Nintendo and Activision pop into your mind. After all, these are companies behind some of the biggest gaming franchises in the world like Mario, Zelda, Call of Duty, and more. However, it seems that Apple could actually be bigger than both of them combined.

According to an analysis by the Wall Street Journal (paywall), data revealed during the Apple VS Epic lawsuit has led to the conclusion that Apple could actually be a much bigger gaming company than Nintendo, Activision, Microsoft, and Sony combined. Apparently Apple’s operating profits from gaming alone in 2019 was estimated to be around $8.5 billion, although during the trial, Apple said that those figures were wrong and that it was higher.
