17% Of Japan's Population Get First Vaccine Shot

Data released by the Japanese government show that 17.64 percent of Japan's population have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
The latest statistics published on Monday show that 22,437,512 people have had their first shot in Japan.
The number of people who have received their second shot stood at 9,154,518 people, or 7.2 percent of the country's total population, including foreign residents.
The population includes children, who have been not covered by the government's inoculation program so far.
The data are based on figures entered by local officials in a central government system. More people may have been vaccinated at their workplaces or elsewhere.
