Undercooked: Canon's first CMOS-based compact, PowerShot SX1 IS

Canon was producing some impressive superzoom cameras back in 2008. Its PowerShot S5 IS had solid image quality, a capable autofocus system and pleasing color.

In September of that year, the company split its superzoom line in two. Both the PowerShot SX1 and cheaper SX10 IS had 20X, 28-560mm lenses, 10MP sensors, fully articulating LCDs and decent electronic viewfinders. What differentiated the two – in a major way – was the type of sensor used. The S10 IS went with a traditional 1/2.3" CCD, Canon made the SX1 its first compact with a CMOS sensor, which was both a blessing and a curse.

Remote controlled robots are key to the decades-long decommissioning process for the plant. But super-high radiation and structural damage inside the reactors hampered earlier attempts to inspect areas close to the reactors' cores.

Currently, the nationality of the head researcher of a team applying for funding as "contract research fees" under the agency's defense technology research promotion system must be Japanese, but the new plan would open the door to companies, universities and other research institutions outside Japan.

New God Of War Gameplay Trailer Released

New God Of War Gameplay Trailer Released

If you were looking forward to playing God of War this year, you will be disappointed. It was initially speculated that the game could be released in 2017 thanks to a listing on YouTube Gaming which set the date of release as the 28th of November. However it seems that the game will only be released in 2018.

This seems to be in line with an earlier post on NeoGAF that was rubbished by God of War's director, but we guess it did prove to be true. That being said, Sony did release a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming game that shows us some of things we might be able to expect for when it is released for the PS4 next year.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Is Now Official

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Is Now Official

Whenever we see mashups of various Nintendo franchises, it is usually done by Nintendo themselves and with existing Nintendo properties, such as in the case of Mario Kart and the Super Smash Bros. franchises. However this year Nintendo will be attempting something different with Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

Announced by Ubisoft at E3 2017, it seems that the rumors have come true as this game is essentially a mix of characters from the Mario universe and Ubisoft's Rabbids characters. Its description reads, "The Mushroom Kingdom has been torn apart by a mysterious vortex, transporting the chaotic Rabbids into this once peaceful land. To restore order, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Yoshi must team up with a whole new crew: four Rabbids heroes! Together, they will battle with weapons through four worlds filled with combat, puzzles, and unpredictable enemies."

God Of War Could Be Released On 28th November

God Of War Could Be Released On 28th November

Last year Sony unveiled a new God of War title, and what makes this particular title is that not only will it feature Kratos (which is to be expected), but it will also feature his son and based on the gameplay videos, gamers will sort of be playing both characters which does make for pretty unique gameplay for the franchise.

However there is the question of when will the game be released? Last week it seemed like the release date would be revealed during E3, and now it looks like it has, although perhaps not in the most official of capacities. It has been spotted on YouTube Gaming's website (via PlayStation Lifestyle) that they have listed God of War as being released on the 28th of November.
