All Four Osaka Incumbents Projected To Win

The NHK decision desk is projecting that all four incumbents in the Osaka district will retain their seats.
Asada Hitoshi and Takagi Kaori of Japan Innovation Party, the LDP's Matsukawa Rui and Komeito's Ishikawa Hirotaka, all appear headed for a win.
Asada Hitoshi was a member of the Osaka Prefectural Assembly for nearly 20 years. A win would hand him a second term.
Asada said people should be rewarded for their hard work. He also pledged to help create a fair society and a sustainable social security system so that people can work in a reassuring and happy environment.
Takagi Kaori became a member of the city council after working for a bank. She won her seat in the Upper House election in 2016.
Matsukawa Rui worked for Japan's Foreign Ministry for over 20 years. She began her political career in 2016 when she won election to the Upper House.
Matsukawa said she believes that some people voted for her because they want her to keep former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo's wishes alive.
She said that contributing to Osaka's development and protecting Japan are her missions as a lawmaker.
Ishikawa Hirotaka is expected to win a third term. He worked for Japan's Foreign Ministry for more than a decade.
