Earthquake Strikes Northern Japan

An estimated magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck northern Japan at 11:08 p.m. on Saturday, local time.
The quake registered a maximum intensity of six-plus on the Japanese scale of zero to seven.
Fukushima and Miyagi Prefecture recorded an intensity of six.
And the Japanese Meteorological agency says it recorded an intensity of three from Hokkaido island to Aichi prefecture.
The epicenter of the quake is 60 kilometers off the coast of Fukushima prefecture, and the depth is about 60 kilometers.
