Emperor Naruhito To Undergo Prostate Scan
Japan's Imperial Household Agency says Emperor Naruhito will undergo a medical examination of his prostate after a blood test showed a slightly concerning tendency.
The agency said on Monday that the level of a protein called PSA in his blood sample was a little higher than normal.
Agency officials say arrangements are underway for the Emperor to undergo an MRI scan early next month, and that the result will be made public.
Doctors will decide after the scan whether more detailed examinations are necessary.
The agency officials say the Emperor has noticed no symptoms, and is spending his days as usual.
