Evacuees From Ukraine Teach Traditional Cooking In Japan
Evacuees from Ukraine have held a cooking class in Tokyo to teach Japanese people how to make traditional Ukrainian cuisine.
The five evacuees have fled the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk and elsewhere.
They used gestures and a list of words in both Ukrainian and Japanese to explain how to cook borscht, a type of soup made from beetroot, and wareniki, a kind of dumpling.
About 30 people attended the class. Their fees will be used to help evacuees from Ukraine and support the country's medical systems.
