Former Accountant Of Central Japan Town Hospital Accused Of Embezzling $1.1 Mil.

The former accountant of a town hospital in central Japan has been accused of embezzling the equivalent of over 150 million yen, or 1.1 million dollars.
Police have arrested Hirode Sho on suspicion of pocketing 7.4 million yen, or about 55,000 dollars from the coffers of Minamiise hospital in Mie prefecture from March to May this year.
The town has filed a complaint with the police, alleging that Hirode misappropriated about 1.1 million dollars over the three years through around June this year.
Hirode was fired after town officials discovered large expenditures that were unaccounted for in June.
Hirode has reportedly admitted to the allegations. Investigators have quoted him as saying that he used the money to buy pop idol concert tickets and goods, and to pay for online games.
