Japan Govt. Spokesman: Sdf Did Not Activate Steps Against N.korean Missile

Japan's top government spokesperson says the Japanese Self-Defense Forces did not activate steps against the North Korean missile that flew over the country on Tuesday morning.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno Hirokazu spoke to reporters after attending a meeting of the government's National Security Council.
Matsuno said the SDF had followed the missile's flight -- from launch to landing -- and did not take destructive steps as no damage was projected within Japan's territory.
Matsuno said the Defense Ministry and the SDF are in a state of preparedness at all times to protect lives and property under any circumstance.
But he said he wished to refrain from specifying how they responded.
