Japan Post To Return Items Disrupted By Russian Invasion

Japan Post says it must return items on their way to Russia and several other countries as the conflict in Ukraine is disrupting transportation networks.
Japan Post says this applies to international sea mail accepted in Japan from November to around January. Aside from Russia, the other countries affected are Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Belarus.
The company says transport routes are no longer available due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. This comes on top of disruptions to logistics networks from the coronavirus pandemic.
Japan Post says about 20,000 packages are being held in overseas warehouses and container ships. It plans to return them to senders as soon as they arrive back in Japan.
