Japan To Issue Evacuee Certificates To Ukrainians Who Fled Russia's Invasion
Japan's immigration agency is set to issue evacuee certificates to Ukrainians to show they have arrived in the country after fleeing Russia's invasion of their homeland.
The Immigration Services Agency of Japan said the documents will make it easier for evacuees to receive support they need for life in Japan.
The agency said the certificates will carry personal information, such as evacuees' facial photographs, dates of their arrival in Japan and designated numbers assigned to them.
The agency said it will begin sending the certificates to the addresses of relatives or acquaintances with whom evacuees are currently staying.
The agency has been disseminating information on the government's assistance available for evacuees. It has also held seminars for local governments that are helping evacuees.
