Japanese Firms Launch Service To Measure Co2 Reduction

A major Japanese ad agency and a trading house have teamed up on a service that measures how effective some products are in reducing CO2 emissions.
Hakuhodo and Mitsui & Co. launched the service on Monday in Tokyo. It works by analyzing the eco-friendliness of the materials used in products as well as the impact from their manufacturing and transport.
About 30 companies have signed on.
A project manager said he hopes the service will allow consumers to get more involved in efforts to achieve carbon neutrality as well as to make more-informed product choices.
