Japan's Covid - 19 Vaccination Schedule
Health care workers are first in line to receive a coronavirus vaccine in Japan. About 40,000 workers will make up an initial group that will be vaccinated at 100 hospitals across the country. The inoculations have begun and are expected to start at all of the hospitals next week at the latest.
The health ministry is preparing to begin vaccinations of the roughly 3.7 million remaining health care workers in mid-March.
The ministry plans to start vaccinating about 36 million people aged 65 or older in April.
Approximately 8.2 million people with underlying health conditions will be next in line to receive the shots, along with about 2 million individuals who work at nursing care facilities.
