Ldp's Hoshi Hokuto Promises To Tackle Many Challenges In Fukushima
NHK's decision desk is projecting that the new LDP candidate Hoshi Hokuto will win his first seat in Fukushima.
Five candidates are vying for the district's single seat due to the retirement of an incumbent.
Hoshi said Fukushima Prefecture is in the middle of reconstruction, and there are still many things that need to be done. He said he will firmly carry on the aspirations of former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo and work with everyone to achieve the recovery of the region.
Hoshi is also supported by Komeito. He is a doctor and the former vice president of the prefecture's medical association.
During his campaign, he said he would protect people's lives by drawing on his experiences from the coronavirus pandemic.
