M5.8 Earthquake Hits Fukushima
An earthquake with an intensity of lower 5 on the Japanese scale of zero to 7 occurred off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture just before 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, local time.
The focus was off the coast of Ibaraki Prefecture, at a depth of 30 kilometers. The magnitude is estimated at 5.8.
The Meteorological Agency says there is no threat of a tsunami.
No injuries or deaths have been reported.
