N.korean Engineer Suspected Of Illegally Receiving Money For App Development

Japanese police say a North Korean IT engineer in China is suspected of illegally receiving money in return for developing Japanese smartphone apps.
They've sent papers to prosecutors on two individuals in Japan in connection with the case.
The Kanagawa prefectural police say a 57-year-old male South Korean resident in Yokohama allegedly sent about 1,300 dollars to the engineer in China.
They also say a 75-year-old female Korean resident in Tokyo abetted the man. Both are suspected of violating Japan's banking law.
Police say the IT engineer used the man's name to register with a Japanese service that introduces engineers to companies.
They believe the engineer had been sending some of the money he received to North Korea.
The two individuals in Japan have reportedly admitted to the charges. The man has told investigators he met the engineer in Pyongyang while on a business trip there.
