Okinawa 'eisa' Dance Festival Returns After 3 Years
Young people in the southern Japanese prefecture of Okinawa have performed the traditional "eisa" dance at a festival in Uruma City that was canceled for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Five groups took part in the event over the weekend.
Organizers implemented anti-infection measures such as checking temperatures, using disinfectant and banning alcohol at the venue.
Dancers dressed in colorful costumes and carrying drums performed the eisa.
One man said he had been waiting for three years to take part in the festival, and he is happy to be able to perform the dance before many people.
