Osaka Reports 883 New Cases Of Coronavirus

The western Japanese prefecture of Osaka reported 883 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday. That's the second highest number ever reported in the prefecture. It follows the record tally of 905 cases that officials in Osaka confirmed one day earlier.
The daily count topped 800 for the third straight day.
Osaka has had the highest daily counts in the country for eleven days in a row. The prefecture is now the epicenter of the nation's epidemic.
Osaka officials also reported two deaths on Friday.
The latest daily count brings the total number of cases in the prefecture to 58,414. The death toll stands at 1,204.
