Pelosi Arrives In Japan

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Japan on Thursday on the last leg of her Asia tour.
The plane carrying Pelosi from South Korea landed at Yokota Air Base in Tokyo at around 9:50 p.m.
Pelosi is scheduled to hold talks with Japan's Lower House Speaker Hosoda Hiroyuki and other officials.
Earlier in her tour, Pelosi became the first US House Speaker to visit Taiwan in 25 years. She held talks with Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen on Wednesday.
Pelosi's visit there drew angry reactions from Beijing, which says Taiwan is an inalienable part of China.
Following her visit, China is stepping up military and economic pressure on Taiwan. China has been holding large-scale military exercises in areas surrounding Taiwan from Thursday.
