Suga Sends A Letter Of Condolence To Pm Johnson

Japan's Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide sent a letter to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the passing of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburg, on Friday.
Suga said in the letter, "It is with deep sadness that I have learned of the passing of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. On behalf of the Government and people of Japan, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the Royal Family, the Government and the people of the United Kingdom."
He also said, "His Royal Highness visited Japan seven times, including as a State Guest with Her Majesty The Queen in 1975. I would like to pay tribute to him for not only further strengthening the historic friendship between the Royal Family and the Japanese Imperial Household but also for his great contribution to promoting mutual understanding between the peoples of Japan and the United Kingdom."
Suga added, "May I emphasise the great esteem with which I will always remember His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh."
