Tokyo Confirms 2,194 New Cases Of Coronavirus On Sunday

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says it confirmed 2,194 new cases of the coronavirus on Sunday.

The daily tally is down more than 1,100 from a week ago and marks 16 straight days of week-on-week decline.

The seven-day average through Sunday stands at 2,855.6, which is 80.2 percent of the figure a week ago.

Tokyo officials said they confirmed four deaths on Sunday.

The number of seriously ill patients who are on a ventilator or an ECMO heart-lung machine remains unchanged at three.
